Junior FabLab STEAM Clubs
STEAMWORKS’ flagship programme is our Junior FabLab STEAM (STEM) club. These after school science clubs are perfect for young people eager to tinker, explore and discover how things work.
In FabLabs, 4 to 11-year-olds to get hands-on with science, technology, engineering, maths and making through creative activities. Over the course of each club, students are set a practical challenge, walked through an experiment or make something to take home.

We base all of our exciting and fun afterschool activities around core scientific ideas that really get younger people enthusiastic about a future in STEM.

Want to host an after-school FabLab?
FabLab’s are a fantastic way for you to boost your students’ enthusiasm for science and technology!
Primary schools and other registered childcare organisations can host afterschool FabLabs. Our exciting workshop plans are based around key scientific principles, and can theme activities around elements of your pre-planned science curriculum where needed.
All STEAMWORKS staff are trained by us, DBS-checked and will arrive with an appropriate number of assistants depending on class sizes.
What a FabLab STEAM club looks like
You could be making multi-coloured rainbow slime one week, the next you might delve into the intricacies of rocket science in the playground! In each session, children are encouraged to work scientifically and put their problem-solving skills to the test.
Clubs can be held for groups of up to 20 students from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 6 and are held in a room provided by the school/ organisation. Our after-school clubs last for one hour, while our holiday provision can be tailored to your needs.
Each session is led by one of our fantastic STEAMWORKS Activity Officers who’ll bring all the required knowhow and resources with them. Our team have a passion for STEM education and communication as well as having vast experience in leading workshops for younger children.
