STEAMWORKS at the Sheffield Part-Time Jobs Fair
Today we’re visiting the University of Sheffield Part-Time Jobs and Volunteering Fair. We’re looking for enthusiastic STEM students to join our brilliant STEAMWORKS team!
We want for new recruits to inspire primary school children in schools across Sheffield and South Yorkshire, and lead exciting STEM workshops and classes.
Find us at the University of Sheffield’s jobs fair on October 6 from 10:30am to 2:00pm. So if you’re want a part-time job with a difference, an aspiring science communicator, engineer, teacher, or just passionate about STEM, come and say hello!
Where’s the Part-time Jobs Fair?

The fair’s taking place in the Octagon Centre next to the Sheffield Student’s Union building.
To gain entry you will be asked for proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 (such as your paper vaccine card which shows you’ve had two jabs where appropriate) or email confirmation of a negative PCR/lateral flow test result.
Our stand is to the left of the building as you walk into the main room. If you still can’t find us, just look for the STEAMWORKS logo or see if you can spot Helen (look at the next picture)!
Who you can meet from STEAMWORKS

Our Managing Director Helen Bell, as well as some of our fantastic activity officers, will be at the fair to answer all your questions and tell you what it’s like to work with us.
Helen and the team will walk you through the role and what happens at our fun activities workshops. Ask us how work-experience at STEAMWORKS can help you in your future career, and what makes us different to other part-time employers.
You’ll also find out how STEAMWORKS will improve your university experience, give you key career skills and look great on your CV.
Work experience at STEAMWORKS
STEM + Art = STEAM
STEAMWORKS are a not-for-profit organisation putting creativity and art into primary school STEM learning and we’re on a mission to get more children engaged in science and technology subjects through our fun afterschool workshops.
We provide schools and communities opportunities to get their kids involved through FabLabs workshops, teacher CPD and the Young Science Ambassadors programme.
As an activity officer, you’ll assist and lead these workshops across Sheffield and South Yorkshire. We’re looking for anyone with a passion for STEM and a talent for teaching. Prior experience isn’t required to get involved, so find us at the fair or check out our work for us to get started.
