FabLab After-School and Holiday Clubs

All of our exciting and fun after-school activities are based around core scientific and mathematical skills and concepts to encourage young people to become enthusiastic about a future in STEM. However, we also believe that it is essential to include design and creativity within science, technology, engineering and maths to allow children to innovate and create amazing things!

Our Fab Lab Clubs, for children aged 5 to 11 years old, provide children with opportunities to get hands-on with science, technology, engineering and mathematics through creative activities. Over the course of each 1-hour club, the children undertake practical challenges and investigations, and often make something they can take home.

These after-school STEM clubs are perfect for young people eager to investigate, explore and discover how things work.

Young Science Ambassadors

Young Science Ambassadors is an outstanding national scheme that allows your pupils to take the lead in championing and raising the profile of science across the school.

The Young Science Ambassador scheme helps to empower children through science, by training a small group and equipping them with the tools and expertise to become ambassadors and get their whole school excited about science!

We come to your school and spend the day training up to 3 groups of between 4 and 6 KS2 pupils, accompanied by a member of staff, to become Science Ambassadors.

The children receive a set of lab coats before getting hands-on with a range of practical activities and learning the science behind them.

The children receive training to develop the presentation skills needed to demonstrate the science-based experiments and investigations at their own school using the take-away box of resources.

Training Science Ambassadors not only increases children’s scientific knowledge, skills and understanding but also equips children with invaluable life skills, such as effective communication, as well as developing confidence and independence as they learn how to carefully plan and present science demonstrations to an audience. Perfect for British Science Week!

Curriculum enrichment

Our curriculum enrichment programme for children aged 5 to 11 years old provides children with opportunities to get hands-on with science, technology, engineering and mathematics, whether this is with a small group, whole class or a cohort of children.  During the lesson, the children learn to work scientifically, undertake practical challenges and investigation and often make something they can take home.

Guaranteed to inspire learning and increase interest and enthusiasm in STEM, integrating our curriculum enrichment programme within the day-to-day curriculum, school project, science fairs or Science and Maths curriculum focus days or weeks, is a perfect way to encourage children to investigate, explore and discover how things work through active learning.

All our exciting and engaging STEM activities provide children with experiential learning opportunities, which support schools in meeting the requirements of the programmes of study within the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.

However, we also believe that it is essential to include design and creativity within science, technology, engineering and maths, encouraging children to be imaginative and develop problem-solving skills whilst enabling them to innovate and create amazing things!

STEM + ART = STEAM

We believe that it is essential to include design and creativity with science, technology, engineering and maths, to allow children to innovate and create amazing things!

Think of the beautiful mathematical spirals in nature, or the fusion of creativity and precision in architecture. Engineering uses design and physics to create beautifully useful things.

Science, technology, engineering and maths are playing an important role in future careers, but we must fuse these with creative thought and critical thinking to help young people flourish so they can play a part in making the future.
